With his thick, cockney accent in this, I kept thinking Karl Urban in The Boys. He’s actually the reason I went for this book. Seriously, what the hell?!? The ending where he and his mates brutally, and in glorious, torturous fashion, murder THE WRONG MAN and there doesn’t appear to be any consequence externally or even internally… No thanks. Olivia’s only redeeming quality is her care of her little brothers, which he didn’t know at first, but only discovers because HE STALKS HER. All I can surmise from reading Olivia is that the author has a big fat chip on her shoulder. Olivia is rude and stupid (no sense of self-preservation whatsoever). I see these characters being psychotic 18-year-olds. But no kid’s obviously got something to prove. They’re all the toughest of the tough guys, and he’s the toughest of them all! Yah. This is his town, these are his streets, he’s a “soldier” of the street. He was nasty, she was nasty, why should I care about these characters? SPOILERS!! The whole book, Psycho (I forgot his name) can’t stop reminding the reader what a badass he is. Trigger warnings include stalking, physical violence and psychotic tendencies. It contains scenes of a violent and sexual nature and is therefore it is intended for mature listeners.
